| Sale report from the 1st Annual Spring ADHHA Sale 4/24/2010
After an interesting Friday evening consisting of a demonstration of Four-In-Hand driving by Gavin Robson, an exciting Stallion Presentation with some new young stallions being presented for the first time. To cap it off a wonderful chicken dinner sponsored by ADHHA and prepared by David Miller of Sunrise Stables, the scene was set for an interesting sale Saturday morning.
There was a lull between the Stallion presentation and the beginning of the sale, this did give vendors the opportunity to gather their composure before presenting their horses for sale. There were 21 Dutch Harness Horses that were ¾ Dutch blood or better. This made for 25% of the total consignment being 75% or more Dutch. Our top priced lot was in the Supplementary catalog, a half bred mare with a ¾ dutch colt foal by her side topping the sale at $8,800.00.
Briefly, considering there were 300 horses sold 2 weeks prior and another 140 being sold the week after, we were happy with the sale, and most definitely with the quality of stock that came forward for sale.
Thank you all, for attending, consigning your animals and or purchasing new ones. You are all, an integral part of the ongoing Dutch Harness Horse industry. There will be a full sale report with pictures in the Harness Horse Express – next issue July 2010.
